How to Advocate for Your Work

About How to Advocate for Your Work

'How to Advocate for Your Work' is a one‑hour online masterclass for designers and adjacent roles on how to communicate the value of their work and make collaborators excited to work with them.Hosted on by PixelPerfect, taught by Stacey Nova, founder of PixelPerfect and senior product designer.

What the session covers

  • How to advocate for design work: explaining design decisions clearly to stakeholders, responding when work is questioned or diluted, and building trust around your choices.
  • How to advocate for yourself: talking about your work confidently, pitching yourself to clients and teams, and making a strong impression in meetings and interviews.
  • How to be memorable: introducing yourself so people remember you, getting people on board with your ideas, and building a reputation instead of waiting for opportunities.

Who it is for

This session is targeted at senior and lead designers, product designers, service designers, UX researchers, junior designers with 1+ years' experience, and designers who want to improve their communication and public speaking skills. It is aimed at people working on both hands-on product design and higher-level strategy who care about building better digital experiences.
