PictoPRO: Characters for Clients

An all-new 1-day live broadcast celebrates professional character work across industries, featuring artists' presentations, a panel discussion and a spotlight on members of the PictoHOME community.

Buoyed by the success of experimental online streaming in 2020 and 2021 and the recent launch of its PictoHOME PRO resources, Pictoplasma introduces an all-new online event series to highlight professional character-makers and connect creators from around the world – with no travel required. On March 21, Pictoplasma will broadcast live on PictoHOME, with brand new PictoTalks from featured artists sharing the processes and challenges of their successful client projects, a panel of industry producers discussing the needs and realities of contemporary commercial character work, and a spotlight on commissioned character projects from artists in the PictoHOME community, selected from the #charactercommissions Call for Entries. Artists presenting include Spanish illustration duo Cachetejack will talk about their processes working on a recent worldwide Nike campaign; Swiss character designer Felicié Haymoz shares details on her work for the ‚Star Wars: Visions‘ animated anthology; Brazilian illustrator & graphic designer Jun Ioneda created a vibrant collection of characters and scenery for Spotify; French art director & character designer Lucie Viatge worked on ‚Goodbye Volcano High‘, a story-driven, choice-based cinematic adventure game; Canadian/Australian illustrator and concept artist Nathan Jurevicius had to give up control and put his creation ‚Scarygirl‘ into the hands of others when it became a major feature film; and Australian graphic designer, illustrator and picture book maker Rilla Alexander will reflect about the process of working with publishers, both when illustrating her own stories as those by famous authors. Access to this event is available with the activation of a PictoPRO membership, offered annually for a limited-time price of 69€, which includes additional 24/7 access to a growing video archive of 230+ PictoTalks, livestreams of the Berlin and NYC conferences, and more …
