Now in its 12th edition in NYC, Pictoplasma is back with a two-day celebration of character creativity. Expect fresh inspiration, cutting-edge artist talks and presentations, and lovingly curated animation screenings with a focus on contemporary visual storytelling. There will also be plenty of opportunities to meet like-minded character enthusiasts, make new friends and professional contacts, and find future collaborators.

Taking place at the SVA Theatre in Manhattan's Chelsea neighbourhood, the event will feature an eclectic line-up of creators covering a diverse range of media, disciplines, styles, and stories, all of whom are eager to take to the stage and share their insights on character creation. The accompanying animation programme offers further visual stimuli — a far cry from family entertainment — while the event as a whole invites talent and industry professionals to connect, network and exchange strategies for the future of character design as a narrative device capable of conveying empathy, emotion, edginess and meaning all at once.
