About MUTEK Montreal
The MUTEK Forum transforms the MUTEK Montréal Festival from an impressive lineup into a live question: what does creative intelligence look like now? With the theme of 'Symbiotic Frequencies', the 2026 Forum will bring together artists, technologists, curators and researchers in Montreal to explore the complex and productive intersections between sound, AI, ecology, memory and cultural futures.
This framing feels right. The most interesting conversations in contemporary culture rarely happen in isolation anymore; they happen in the overlap zones. MUTEK Forum embraces this with a programme moving from artificial intelligence and non-human mythologies to Indigenous futures, embodied listening and the politics of sound. This is exactly the kind of gathering that shows why conferences still matter when they are done well: they don't just present ideas; they put them under pressure in public. Among the speakers is Claire L. Evans, whose work has long explored the intersections between internet culture, feminism, speculation, and emerging technology. She will appear alongside Mindy Seu, Caroline Busta, Lil Internet, Zach Blas, Caroline Monnet, Tracy Renée Rector and others who are shaping the conversation across art, media and critical design. This diversity is important. MUTEK Forum does not flatten disciplines into a branding exercise; it allows them to collide.
