Career Coaching for Senior Designers

About Career Coaching for Senior Designers

A group coaching session for in-house designers navigating misaligned KPIs, unclear strategy, and low stakeholder buy-in — with practical tools to position design more strategically.

“I feel like I’ve hit a ceiling in my design career. Stakeholders don’t get design, and it’s not really valued where I work.”

That’s something we heard again and again from in-house senior UX designers, brand designers, and Heads of Experience during our last coaching session.

Over one hour, we worked through real, very familiar situations brought by the participants.

Here’s what came up:

• When different departments ask designers for completely different things, the problem often isn’t poor communication — it’s misaligned KPIs.
‍
• One participant complained her design team had no metrics at all. She learned how to introduce simple, lightweight ways to measure impact and show progress.
‍
• Another asked what to do when a company has no clear strategy and learned how to ask this in a different way — and how to actually get useful answers.
‍
• Several in-house UX designers shared that their CEO reacts reactively  to user feedback. We looked at how to frame risks in “CEO language,” present them clearly, and build trust as a strategic partner.

If you’re feeling stuck because:
• different departments pull you in different directions
• there’s no clear company strategy
• no one has defined KPIs for the design team

...you might find this group session with Kate genuinely helpful.

We can’t promise we’ll unpack your exact situation — but these challenges repeat across teams.

Everyone leaves with practical insights, new perspectives, and a sense that they’re not alone.
