Letterspace will end their season with a festive launch of the Oedipus Alphabet Universe. Victor Brangolo, Head of Colors at Oedipus Brewing, will present the design process and parts of his artistic practice.

Letterspace will end its season with a festive launch of the Oedipus Alphabet Universe. In the last year, Victor Brangolo – Head of Colors at Oedipus Brewing — has been digitizing his brush lettering into a variable font. With the assistance of Edgar Walthert, the letters have come to life and might even start mutating in a future state. Join us for a hot summer evening with delicious craft beers, eclectic tunes by DJ Olaf and a colorful presentation. – Victor Brangolo is the Head of Colors at Oedipus Brewing, creating its brand identity and visual world. His work for Oedipus always begins with painting and drawing, where colors, energy, and symbols play a big role in producing a unified visual language. Aside from his design work, he paints and draws, exploring colors, painting techniques and other topics that matter to him. Victor was born and raised in Paris, before he moved to Amsterdam to study graphic design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. He has worked as an art director for a broad range of clients and agencies while also continually working on Oedipus-related projects that developed his unique visual approach to branding. — Victor’s hand-painted illustrations and letters are the unique part of the Oedipus identity and its ever-growing portfolio. Creating a typeface as a design tool allowed the identity to grow beyond its existing applications and empowered third parties to design within established guidelines. Victor will present the design process of the typeface, its unconventional variable fun-axis, and will share future developments. Victor will also share his larger work at Oedipus Brewing and parts of his artistic practice. We will learn about the design process, the unconventional variable fun-axis and have an outlook whereto the Universe will expand in the future.
