5 Design Conferences to attend in Copenhagen
AnnouncementBy Thomas Dahm,
I visited Copenhagen once, briefly, on my way back from Odense after One Day Out. Since then I’m fascinated by the city and all the creative events that are happening in and around the capital of Denmark. These events merge the magic of festivals into in-depth conferences to explore alternative futures.
This is the first in a series of articles where we highlight 5 or more annual design conferences that are happening in a specific city or country, and are worth attending. Today, Copenhagen!
Techfestival examines, across 10 tracks, the ways technology shapes our societies. During the festival they ask what really happens when technology impacts the way we relate, eat, play, learn, work, tap our resources, build our cities and exercise modern democracies.
- Next edition of Techfestival is September 5-7, 2019

Post Design Festival, founded in 2016, is an openly critical and collaborative design festival that challenges the place of graphic design, digital design and illustration in society.
The Conference is a two-day conference of super-curated talks, where curious minds from all over the world meet to delve further into the promises and pitfalls of the digital development. The Conference is in Malmö, Sweden which is only 40 minutes from Copenhagen.
Helle Martens created in 2015 UX Copenhagen, a two day conference for professionals working with and around User Experience (UX) Design. The 2020 theme is “Influence & Designing for Good”
- Next edition of UX Conference is March 30-31, 2020

Next to these five bigger design conferences, there are lots of smaller meetups, morning or evening events. Local organizations like CHPUX and chapters of Ladies, Wine & Design, The Design Kids and CreativeMornings organise events frequently.
Research and design lab SPACE10 organizes events on design and innovation as well.
