Type Camp is a hands-on, collaborative approach that invites experimentation and reflection, as well as laughter and lightness. Since 2007, Type Camp has taken place in 8 countries on 5 continents. This year for the 4th time in Japan! With workshops in shodo (Japanese calligraphy), inkan (name stamp carving), indigo dyeing, historical sake label design, paper cutting, wabi sabi sculpture.

Experience 7 days of authentic Japanese life through design. Connect with local artisans and their time-honoured Japanese crafts while bringing your own creations to life. Type Camp is the ultimate one-of-a-kind Japanese design experience. Workshop leaders include Dr. Shelley Gruendler, Ms. Coko Nakashima, Ms. Jyunko Matumoto, Mr. Yuichiro Nishioka, Mr. Kanbanya Takechan.
